Meet Krista

I’m a wife, a mom, a writer, a book hoarder, and a therapist.

I’m an introvert, an old soul, a sensitive, bookish person who lives inside her own head much of the time, both for better and for worse.

I know what it’s like to be a square peg in a round hole, to feel as if you don’t fit in. But I’m learning that “fitting in” is not all it’s cracked up to be. It‘s a cheap imitation of belonging, being seen and known and loved for all the things that make us wonderful and strange.

I love to read, and if you step foot inside my house, you will know this to be true because you will find books and bookshelves in practically every room. I’ve been told that people don’t really read anymore, that they don’t have the time or attention span, but I don’t believe that, not for one second. I believe that we recognize truth and beauty and goodness when we see it, be it in books or art or a sunset or a meal.

Speaking of meals, my second favorite thing is food. I love to cook for and eat with my people. I like fancy food and simple food. I have yet to meet a chip dip I didn’t love. I have been known to send out a text in the middle of the day inviting friends to dinner that night because I’ve made more than we can eat. The sounds of laughter and wine being poured and plates being filled brings me more joy than I can express.

And last but not least, I love my people — the ones I share a home with and the ones that have taken up residence in my heart.

Krista has been a constant source of truth and goodness in my life for many years, and I can confidently say that I would not be the woman I am today without her love and guidance.
